Thanks again for the amazing trip you provided us.  What a great way to see part of Guatemala.  You did a superb job of taking good care of us.  It could not have gone better. Ironically, I already ran into 3 different local families since we have been back who have also adopted children from Guatemala, and have already sung your praises!  I’ve attached some of the photos from our trip (just a few of the nearly 500 I took!).  The first photo is from 10 years ago on the veranda of La Casa Grande…

Hello Yves,

We have enjoyed our tour in Guatemala very much. Fernando is a great guide, very knowledgeable and caring, both towards us, as well as towards his heritage and people. You can tell it is not merely a job for him,  he really  loves what he is doing.

In Tikal we were very happy that we took the “sunrise” tour. Although it was cloudy and no sunshine was seen, it was a nice experience to walk in the forest at night and early morning, before it got crowded and warm. Highly recommended with or without sunrise.

Lake Atitlan was beautiful and so was the hotel.

We also enjoyed the Pakaya volcano climb very much. We heard it became active a few days after we left!

All in all, this had been one of our best trips. Guatemala is interesting from various angles, culture , history, nature and its combination. Also Costa Rica was great, though in a different way-nature and thrill (zip line).

We will certainly recommend you and Fernando to friends going to Guatemala.

ik zal het ook per mail doen ;-). Als ik aankwam in Zaventem heb ik je een sms gestuurd voor U te bedanken maar misschien heb je die nooit gekregen.  Per mail zal zeker gaan.

Dus ik wou je hartelijk bedanken voor wat je voor ons hebt allemaal gedaan. Persoonlijk vond ik het een super reis. Heel gevarieerd, de mooie natuur, de mensen (zoveel spaans spreken met iedereen… soms met grappige situatie…) de tempels, de architectuur de jeroglifen 😉 en naturlijk de Maya’s.

Ik heb mij wel ook verschillende keren in omgevingen gevonden waar fantasie en proberen terug in de tijd te gaan een grote rol hebben gespeeld.  En als het mij lukte was het onwarschijnlijk mooi.
Je ziet het, je hebt het geluk in zo een mooie land te wonen. Guatemala = de plaats van de boomen.

Je ziet dat ik ook een goed geheugen heb hé ☺

Ondertussen zijn de muggebeten ofte wel de “maya decorations” alweer verdwenen en van de snotvalling ben ik ook vanaf, dus we zijn helemaal “back on track”.

We hebben een mooie en fantastische reis  gehad dankzij jou. Jouw zeer uitgebreide kennis, je gedrevenheid, je zorgzaamheid en…. je gevoel voor humor hebben van deze vakantie een onvergetelijke  ervaring gemaakt.

Amaikes, je gevoel voor humor is werkelijk fantastisch. Ik heb keiveel moeten lachen ☺

De zondag heb ik de foto’s bekeken en heb de reis opnieuw beleefd. De mysterieuze sites, die mooie natuur, de vriendelijke bevolking, dat vleugje avontuur. Ik vond het werkelijk een superreis ☺

Ik zal je in een 2de mail een link doormailen waar je, als je tijd en zin hebt, de foto’s kunt downloaden en bekijken.

By the way, ik heb voor u al reclame gemaakt zenne. Als klanten vragen waar ik naartoe geweest ben en als ze horen dat de gids een vlaming is , dan zijn ze direkt één en al oor.

Ik ben blij te lezen dat de dames des huizes content zijn met de parfum ☺
Je weet het hé. Een frisse geur is Clarins = de blauwe fles of anders de parfum “Romance” van Ralph Lauren

Yves, als je graag den Humo wil, ne Leo of é goe stuk chokolade met nootjes, é pakske zakdoekskes met balsam of zeep met Jojoba(☺) . Dan laat je me maar iets weten hé. Ik wil je gerust en met veel plezier een pakket met vanalles en nog wat  toezenden. Dat is geen probleem hoor.

En als je naar België komt…je weet het hé…Dan kom je langs in Merchtem. Je bent hier altijd welkom ☺

I would, without reservation, recommend you to anyone wanting to visit Guatemala. I would also recommend Guatemala to anyone realistic enough to expect a few differences between Central America and North America or Europe.

Wij zijn reeds sinds zondag terug van een zeer aangename reis naar Guatemale en Mexico; hier volgt onze mening:

-De organisatie verliep vlekkeloos: op elke luchthaven stonden onze reisgidsen/chauffeurs stipt op tijd te wachten; zij spraken allen vloeiend en verstaanbaar Engels en zij wisten allen waarover ze het hadden; zij waren alle ook aangenaam in de omgang.
Twee gidsen waren excellent en verdienen speciale recommendatie.

-De hotels waren goed tot zeer goed.

-Het programma stak goed in elkaar: de volgorde van de archeologische sites was perfekt: in het begin waren we practisch allen op de sites en naarmate de reis vorderde kwamen we bij de bekendere tempels en piramides met meer touristen; we waren er echter steeds vlak na de opening zodat we nog konden genieten zonder al te veel touristendrukte

We behouden zeer mooie herinneringen aan deze reis.

Net terug van Tikal – an amazing experience indeed!
We genieten nu van een drankje aan het meer van Flores.
Het is allemaal vlot verlopen en veel te snel voorbij gegaan.
Gids en driver hebben een prima job gedaan en zijn heel vriendelijk .
Nu nog wat uitrusten in Belize en dan wordt het weer werken om de volgende vakantie te verdienen 🙂 .
We zullen Guatemala en uw services  zeker aanbevelen bij vrienden !

We’re finally getting a chance to write to you about our trip that we arranged through you last month. Our overall assessment is very positive and we enjoyed every day of the trip for countless reasons. I’ll try to enumerate some of those.

The itinerary worked well considering that we wanted to see so much in such a short time. We felt as though we got a broad preliminary view of the terrain and the people of Guatemala and we really appreciated the diversity of what we saw. The circuit that we covered kept us driving a bit more than we would have liked, but given the various places we asked to see, the only solution would have been a longer time in the country. One thing we always appreciated in the car was the care Leonel took in driving. We always felt safe and comfortable.

In Panajachel we took your advice to stay at the Hotel Atitlán. I could see why you recommended that hotel. It is very well appointed, the rooms are quite nice, the grounds are lovely, and once we changed our room (because the first one only had one bed), we had a great view of the lake.
I especially loved waking up there at sunrise and going out to record the bird songs and to video the light creeping up the volcanoes

Thank you both for providing us with such a wonderful and enriching trip. It was good to meet you Yves, if only for a passing moment at the airport. Please feel free to pass on our contact information should others want recommendations for your services.

Ja hoor, we zijn goed thuisgeraakt. Het was een fantastische reis! We hebben er echt van genoten.

Sinds maandag al terug aan het werk, maar met alle opgedane energie lukt dit wel 🙂

Onze postkaartjes hebben we dan trouwens verstuurd in Antigua en ze zijn allemaal al toegekomen (op woe 9/03 verstuurd en al aangekomen in België op ma 21/03), ongelooflijk é!

Maxhapan is goed meegevallen, vriendelijke mevrouw en cabanas in orde. Je hoorde wel wat lawaai ‘s nachts (aangezien houten huisje). We vonden het wel leuk op Caye Caulker.

Geen probleem hoor van Flores, Tikal was inderdaad heel leuk. We hadden trouwens heel mooi weer in het regenwoud…

Ik zal je eind deze week nog een klein verslagje sturen (met feedback hotels,…), kan altijd handige info zijn voor je.

First, thank you again for the outstanding trip. Everything went so smoothly; we all felt so pampered that it was a jolt to return to the reality of very dirty homes, bills, cooking, worry etc. Everyone was so happy about our “adventure” although a bit hurt that no one felt we were worthy of kidnapping. I am seriously planning another visit, probably in the beginning of December. It will be for a longer time and will be from 5 to 7 people, depending on if Kathy and Ramon will be able to fly and walk.
