Day 1. Guatemala City – Antigua
Arrival at Aurora International Airport Guatemala City followed by private transfer to the colonial town of Antigua Guatemala.
Day 2. Antigua – Chichicastenango – Lake Atitlán
After breakfast depart along the Interamerican Highway for the Guatemala Highlands. The colorful market in Chichicastenango attracts venders and buyers from the entire Highland region. Stroll through hundreds of stands and visit the Santo Thomas church.

Day 3. Lake Atitlán – Antigua
After breakfast board a private lancha for a half day tour of the lake. We will visit the small town of San Juan La Laguna, famous for its coffee plantations and handmade traditional textiles. Afterwards we return to Panajachel followed by a transfer to Antigua.

Along the way we visit Quirigua, a small but very beautiful and interesting Mayan site hidden away in a Chiquita banana plantation.

Day 3. Antigua – Chichicastenango – Quetzaltenango
After breakfast we depart along the Interamerican Highway for the Guatemalan Highlands. The colorful market in Chichicastenango attracts venders and buyers from the entire Highland region. Stroll through hundreds of stands and visit the Santo Thomas church. After lunch we drive to Quetzaltenago, Guatemala’s second largest city.
Day 4. Quetzaltenango – Lake Atitlán
After breakfast, we visit the charming Indian village of Zunil located in the mountains around Quetzaltenango. From Zunil we take a beautiful scenic route through the mountainous countryside to find the volcanic hot springs of Fuentes Georginas

Day 10. Copán – Antigua
Breakfast in our hotel. Afterwards we prepare for the transfer to La Antigua Guatemala. Arriving in Antigua, you will have plenty of time to take in the atmosphere of this beautiful colonial town.
Day 11. Antigua – Guatemala City Airport
Transfer from hotel in Antigua to the airport in Guatemala City for your flight out.

Day 4. Lake Atitlán
After breakfast board a private lancha (motorboat) for a day tour of the lake. We visit 3 of the 12 villages surrounding the lake. We start in San Juan La Laguna where we will visit cooperatives (in coffee or cotton). Afterwards we will visit Santiago Atitlan. Crossing the lake we reach San Antonio Palopo before returning to Panajachel late afternoon.
Day 5. Panajachel – Antigua
Breakfast in our hotel. Afterwards we prepare for the transfer from Panajachel back along the Interamerican highway to the town of Antigua. Arriving in Antigua, you will have plenty of time to take in the atmosphere of this beautiful colonial town famous for its cobblestone streets, plazas and churches.
Day 6. Antigua

Day 7. Antigua – Copán (Honduras)
We leave the colonial town of Antigua and drive along the Atlantic Highway to the town of Copán Ruinas, just across the border in Honduras. After the brief border formalities, we check into our hotel and have lunch in town.
Afternoon visit of Copán, a very well maintained Mayan site with several plazas, religious temples, a beautiful restored ball court and the impressive Hieroglyphic Stairway.
Day 8. Copán (Honduras) – Quirguá – Rio Dulce
We leave Copán after breakfast and drive back to Guatemala with Rio Dulce as our final destination.
Along the way we visit Quiriguá, a small but very beautiful and interesting Mayan site hidden away in a Chiquita banana plantation.
Afterwards we continue our overland transfer (around 1.5 hours) and check-in at our hotel along the river Rio Dulce.
Day 9. Rio Dulce – Livingston – Rio Dulce
After breakfast our boatman will take us on an amazing trip through mangroves and canals exploring the marvels of Rio Dulce.
Before noon we arrive in the small Garifuna town of Livingston, the Caribbean getaway of
Guatemala, where we will have lunch.
Return in the afternoon by lancha to our hotel in Rio Dulce.
Day 10. Rio Dulce – Flores – Yaxhá
Overland transfer from Rio Dulce to Flores, duration of transfer under 3 hours.
Time for lunch in El Remate, located at the edge of lake Peten Itza.
Afterwards we visit Yaxhá, a post-classic site which flourished long after the abandonment of all other classic era sites. This spectacular site is hidden away in the jungle on the shores of Lake Yaxhá, towards the border with Belize.
Day 11. Tikal
Visit of the most important archeological Mayan site in Guatemala.

Day 12. Flores – El Ceibal – Cobán
We will start our Mayan exploration tour by visiting the Mayan site of El Ceibal, situated along the banks of the Rio Passion.
Its structures are not as impressive as the ones found in Tikal but the exotic jungle surroundings make El Ceibal a very mystical site. The archeological attractions include plazas, temples and magnificent stelae.
The best and also the most adventurous way to reach El Ceibal is by a one hour boat trip up the Passion River followed by a 30 min walk through the jungle
In the afternoon we return to Sayaxche by motorboat and continue on to Cobán, arrival by early evening.
Day 13. Semuc Champey – Grutas de Lanquin
Today we visit two natural treasures hidden in the vast natural beauty of the Alta Verapaz department. The Lanquin Caves is not only a vast extension of caves but also a sacred site for the Mayas. Semuc Champey, 10 km from Lanquin, is a 300m long limestone bridge. On top of this natural structure is a formation of several natural pools filled with mountain spring water.
Day 14. Cobán – Guatemala City
In the course of the morning we will start the transfer from Cobán to Guatemala City.
Approximate transfer time, around 5 hours.
Day 15. Guatemala City Airport
Transfer from hotel to the International Airport in Guatemala City.
